Lourdes Patient Testimonial: Winoka “Wendy” Wilkes
April is National Donate Life Month, so it’s the perfect opportunity to meet Winoka “Wendy” Wilkes. Wendy had been battling lupus since she was 20 years old, and later developed diabetes. Both conditions took a toll on her kidneys, and she went on dialysis as she waited for an organ transplant. Wendy received a new kidney at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center on November 18, 2016. She recently celebrated her 50th birthday and urges everyone to consider organ donation.

Lourdes Cardiology’s “Walk, Dine and Shop with a Doc”—a free program connecting Lourdes heart experts with the community for walks at local parks, health presentations and smart shopping experiences with a ShopRite dietitian—continues this spring.

Walk with Ibrahim Moussa, DO, FACC, FSCAI, RPVI, on Saturday, May 4 from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. at Laurel Acres Park (1045 S. Church St., Mt. Laurel). Shop with Adam M. Levine, DO, FACC, on Thursday, May 9 from 6 to 7 p.m. at ShopRite of Hainesport (1520 Route 38 East, Hainesport). Practice yoga with Rozy Dunham, MD, FACC, on Saturday, June 22 from 8 to 9 a.m. at Barclay Farmstead (209 Barclay Lane, Cherry Hill). Become a Registered Nurse
Considering a career in nursing? Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing will hold an open house on Wednesday, May 29 at 6 p.m. on the fifth floor of the Pavilion at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, 1600 Haddon Ave. in Camden.

Through a longstanding cooperative partnership with Camden County College, students of Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing earn a diploma in nursing and an associate degree in science. This two-and-a-half-year program offers nursing students excellence in nursing and clinical education with affordable tuition. Students also can transfer and apply up to 90 credits to the online RN-BSN program at Thomas Edison State University. No reservation is required for the open house.
